CLERK OF DISTRICT COURT

The Bottineau County Clerk of District Court is an appointed office. The Clerk of District Court is part of the North Dakota judicial system performing administrative duties associated with the District Court such as maintenance of criminal and civil case records, updating the court docket, and processing judgments. The District Court hears all felony criminal cases, domestic relations cases, and civil cases.

This office also serves as passport agent.

SERVICES OF THIS OFFICE

Duties of the District Court Office include:

  • Issuing Executions

  • Clerk court proceedings and filing exhibits.

  • Filing and preserving all papers delivered to him or her.

  • Keep the records, books and papers pertaining to the court and record its proceedings.

  • Process protection/restraining order applications.

  • Jury Selection

  • Traffic

  • Mental Health

  • Probate

  • Guardianship/Conservatorship

  • Name Change

  • Child Support

  • Civil

  • Restraining/Protection Orders

  • Small Claims

  • Paternity

  • Criminal; infractions, misdemeanors &felonies.

  • Adoption

  • Marriage licenses/perform marriages.

  • Track all court, fees, fines and restitution ordered on each case file.
